ISTANBUL
TECHNICAL TOURS Hosted by Istanbul Technical University  

For the two technical tours on 25th March, registration is required. The maximum number of participants is limited to 42 for each tour. In order to register, please fill the form and contact with the conference secreteriat (mtemiz@itu.edu.tr) by 22nd March (Tuesday), or contact with the authorized personnel at the registration desk.
TOUR 1

Visit of Turkish Engine Centre (TEC).

Turkish Engine Center (“TEC”) is a joint venture between Pratt & Whitney and Turkish Technic for the maintenance overhaul and repair of CFM56® and V2500® engines. TEC is located at Istanbul’s 2nd international airport Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW) on the Anatolian (Asian) part. It started its operations in January 2010 and designed and build have an annual capacity of 200 shop visits. Facility is comprised approximately 25,000 m² . TEC currently employs approximately 230 employees and expected to reach 400 employee levels when running at full capacity. Its in-depth repair capabilities, a state-of-the-art information technology system along with the newest methodology in safe and efficient engine overhaul practices will provide maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services to airline customers in Turkey, the European and Middle Eastern regions, as well as other countries around the world.


TEC has B1 rating capability which includes inspection, testing, repair, modification and overhaul of the  CFM56–3, –5B, –5C and –7B and V2500–A5 engines, including powerplant/EBU hardware and electrical harnesses.  Adherence to the highest level of United Technologies Corporation’s Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) operating system together with the Turkish Technic’s engine overhaul experience will ensure quality and customer satisfaction.

Turkish DGCA Approval JAR-145 / SHY-145 is acquired on 6 January 2010. Certification No: TR-00032 FAA certification is granted as of 20 April 2010. Certification No: 33PY227B EASA certificate is received as of 20 May 2010. Certification No is EASA.145.0512
The center has been designed to meet the Gold standards of the United States Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Rating System, with planned provisions to meet Platinum standards.  The facility was planned use renewable energy sources for a portion of its energy load.

Notes:

  • Taking photographs or recording videos are not allowed during technical tours.

  • Participants of TOUR – 1 should be ready at the entrance of the Conference Venue (SDKM) at 13:00 on 25th March. There will be a bus to take them to Turkish Engine Center and lunch will be served in the facility.

  • Participants of TOUR – 2 should be ready at the entrance of the Conferenece Venue (SDKM) at 14:00 on 25th March.
